One-off Donations
If you would like to give to the work here at St Michael's, either as a one-off card donation today or to set up regular financial giving via a standing order, please visit our ONLINE GIVING PORTAL - it's quick and easy.
No contribution is too small, and we are thankful for any gift given. Have a look at the story of the Widow's Mite found in Mark's Gospel:
Mark 12:41-44 (NRSV)
He (Jesus)sat down opposite the treasury, and watched the crowd putting money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which are worth a penny. Then he called his disciples and said to them, ‘Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. For all of them have contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.’
Giving is our response to God’s amazing genrosity to us which we see in his grace, love and forgiveness. Giving should be voluntary and cheerful: St Paul says,‘Let each one give as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves a giver whose heart is in his giving.’ (2 Corinthians 9:7).
